Learn about all things Jackfruit
We're here for the stories, the flavours, the people, the places — past and present. All shaped for us, by us, and shared with anyone who's curious enough to join in. Expect warmth, craft, and a good dose of joy.

Our Vision
From Point Pedro to Dondra Head, a Sri Lanka telling its own story — real, colourful, alive.
We see a Sri Lanka told by the people who live it. Full of history, buzzing with change, alive in the everyday. Not dressed up for the cameras, but shared as it is: a fruit farm trying new crops, a hillside workshop reviving an almost-lost craft, a café mixing old recipes with bold twists. Livelihoods and culture grow side by side here, and visitors are invited into something genuine, evolving, and entirely our own.

Our Mission
Helping Sri Lanka's small businesses thrive, one story and one booking at a time.
We connect Sri Lanka's micro, small, and medium businesses to bigger markets. We especially look out for women-led, rural, and often-overlooked businesses. Our platform puts experiences at the heart of it all, pairing simple digital tools with real, human support so vendors can build strong, lasting livelihoods. By telling their own stories, they connect directly with the world — building a market that's fair, sustainable, and proudly Sri Lankan.

Our Story
From local roots to global reach, building a Sri Lanka that thrives on its own terms.
Jackfruit started as an idea I carried for years, shaped by my work in human rights, policy, and storytelling — and a deep love for Sri Lanka. It also comes from my family, who've spent generations serving their community and dealing with the real ups and downs of running a small business. The name's a cheeky nod to being a "jackfruit of all trades" — a platform that gives local businesses the tools and voice to grow. With global experience and local roots, I built Jackfruit to open new markets, protect culture, and put our stories back in our own hands.
Our Values
Inclusivity
We welcome and support people from all walks of life, with a focus on those who have too often been left out. Everyone has a place in shaping Sri Lanka's economic and cultural future.

Sustainability
We work in ways that care for the environment, keep local economies strong, and help livelihoods last well into the future.

Cultural Celebration
We respect and protect Sri Lanka's many histories, traditions, and creative expressions, keeping them alive while celebrating how they grow and change.

How We Vet Vendors
Consumer Pledge
When you book through Jackfruit, you're choosing to travel and shop with care. You're backing small businesses rooted in their communities, treating people fairly, and looking after the environment. You're listening to local stories, respecting traditions, and experiencing Sri Lanka for what it really is. Together, we can keep livelihoods strong, cultures thriving, and this island's beauty alive for the future.
Setting a baseline. Where are we heading?
We're clear about where we're starting and where we want to go. Setting a baseline now means we can measure how far we've come — from more income for vendors and better market access, to stronger cultural traditions and care for the environment. This is our starting point. In our 2026 Impact Report, you'll see the difference we've made and what's next on the journey.
